The shows that Disney are making nowadays are awful. I have two daughters. A 23 year old, and a 9 year old. My 9 year old daughter is obsessed with Disney Channel (aren’t they all?) but I think that the shows that they are making are awful. A wizard, a girl on a TV show, a pop star and a group of kids living on a boat. It’s setting a bad example for kids. My child is certain that her life will be bad if she doesn’t become famous. She also has been begging me everyday for the past year to go to a school on a boat. She actually believe that they exist.
My eldest child, however, grew up with the likes of Lizzie Maguire, a normal girl who faced normal problems for girls going through adolescents. She didn’t have to do well on a TV show, fix things with magic, try not to fall off a boat or keep her secret from the rest of the world. I think that if they made another show like that, things would be good again.
I hear that there is another show coming out, about two best friends who are after becoming famous. Disney has gone down a lot, and are giving children false hope for their life. I just hope that they realize this because it is certainly coming true, and I don’t want my daughter thinking that her life won’t be complete if she doesn’t become an inter-national pop star, or if she doesn’t star in a TV show. Anybody agree with me on this?
