Ellen DeGeneres Spokesperson for JC Penney

Ellen DeGeneres Spokesperson for JC Penney 5/5 (100%) 2 votes

I recently became aware that JC Penney announced that comedian Ellen Degeneres would be the company’s new spokesperson. I’m saddened, offended and bewildered as to why JC Penney would choose Ellen to represent them when, I would imagine, most of JC Penney’s customers are traditional families. In my opinion, JC Penney has made a poor decision to have Ellen DeGeneres represent their company and I choose to no longer shop at JC Penney. A new Kohl’s store is opening soon in my town and I will I take my business there. I also shop at several other retail stores online, so I really won’t miss shopping at JC Penney at all.

Hello JCPenney. I’m Canadian, with only rare opportunities to shop in your stores, but I was so impressed with your decision to hire Ellen Degeneres, and then to uphold your decision despite pressure from homophobes in your country. When next in the States, I will remember this and choose your store over others. Thank you for choosing what is essential about a person and leaving aside bigotry. Good for you!

  2. I am a Christian woman who disagrees with the homosexual lifestyle. It is a sin according to God. Therefore, I was very highly disappointed in JCPenneys choice of Ms. Degeneres. I strongly feel that she does not represent/advertise for me and my family. I do not hate her at all but I hate her lifestyle. I used to love to shop there. The store had some of the cutest styles to me but now I do not trust this business. I will shop at another department store. I highly regret my decision but I am determined that this is the right decision!

    • Hopefully more Christians will speak out on this! I agree & have sent my comments to JCP! I will no longer be supporting a business that goes against God!

    • I also agree with PO. Seems our opinion makes little difference to big operations including the television industry that’s also shoving gay life style down our throats.

    • Good for you!. Obviously the moment Ellen became spokesperson for the store, everything in every store became gay. You’ve probably just saved yourself from an eternity in Hell.

  3. Thanks, J.C. Penney for standing up to these bullies that want to pull Ellen Degeneres as your spokesperson. I applaud your stance and will go out of my way to shop at your stores from here on out. It’s so refreshing to see corporations do something right in the public eye for a change. Bravo.

  4. With thousands of celebs to choose from JC Penney does not have to stoop to “Ellen Degerate” to promote a chain that has served us for generations. If you complain the answer is “don’t shop here then” Lots of the upper mgmt. lives the gay life style thus cramming it down our throats whether we like it or not. I don’t like it!

  5. Any store that goes against the teachings of my God, is no store for me. I use to shop JCP all the time, but no more. I will take my business elsewhere. We christians need to stick together and stand up for what we believe. I know not having MY business won’t hurt JCP but I feel better about sticking to my convictions.

  6. Those of you who are gay or who support the gay lifestyle; would you shop at a store that chose Billy Graham as their spokesperson and was very vocal that they only supported traditional marriage? As a christian, I want the stores that I shop at to remain neutral.
