JC Penneys Optical Eye Exam Glasses Complaints

Run with all your energy away from JC Penneys Optical. January 2011 I had an eye exam & purchased glasses. The glasses broke 3 times and the lenses would fall out for no reason daily. I told them I could not see well and the optomologist was very rude when she examined my eyes for a second time. I didn’t trust her, so I went to another doctor and they couldn’t believe the prescription I was given, they said it didn’t look anything like the prescription I needed. I went back and requested a refund and since I had been in with problems weekly through May they didn’t hesitate to give me a refund. The optomologist that examed by eyes said I was getting macular degenration and wouldn’t you know – I’m not. Don’t trust JC Penneys Optical!

  2. Hello, I too have went to Jcpenny Optical and they gave me a problem. I was told I have Mucular Dengeration also but I don’t believe this because when I walked in the Jcpenney Optical my eyes was almost perfect. I went there to get reading glasses to read words a little better I’m foresighted. I was given test to see if I had any eye diease and the lady Optomologist reply that my eyes are fine. All and all I was given Agressive eye glasses two months ago but now noticed that my eyes are a gray blurr especially in one eye, I can’t see objects or people faces only a figure of a face, can’t see expression , it’s like i’m wearing sunglasses in one eye / shaded / The Agressive eye glasses was supposed to helped my eyes reading not make my eyes worst, now with or without eyes glasses either for reading or seeing things in a room my eye is like half blind. On the 29th of April I went back to Jcpenney to complain and the lady Optomologist try to blame the patient syndrome card and blame me saying when I came there for eye checkup my eye had a problem… I reply I only had a slight problem my eyes was almost 20 /20 with only a slight difference in one eye. A person just don’t get Mucular Degenration in as little as two months. Mucular Degenration runs in one’s family and my family don’t have a history of this eye sickness and most people get this in age over 60 years old, I’m only 41 of age. I didn’t trust her it was like she was trying to coach me into saying I was already like this when I came for eye checkup on first visit, the more I didn’t agree with her she became mad and reply ( well if you had a problem why didn’t you come two weeks ago ?) I reply two weeks ago is when I finally noticed my eyes were different because the rooms seem like the lights wasen’t on, light seem dim. My question is why didn’t she see my eye problem of Mucular Dengeration on my first visit 2 months ago??? after she clearly said my eyes were fine… I’m going for a second opinion by a private Eye Dr. If they say I have no signs of Mucular Dengeration and that the eye glasses which I purchase at Jcpenny cause a different eye problem then this is not right, Jcpenney Optical needs to be careful with people’s eyes and not give out possible wrong diagnose to people… I’m asking that the person that wrote their complain about their eye problem was it the Jcpenny Optical at Rego Park/ Queens Center Mall / Fresh Meadows ? Thankyou kindly…
