On 3.25.12, I placed a delivery order at Domino’s Pizza located at 880 Walnut Street, Newton Center, MA 02459. The order items were a sausage and pepper Artisan pizza and I order of the chocolate “molten” dessert. The order was placed at 1:30pm EST. At approximately 2:18pm EST I called because the delivery guy was nowhere to be found.
The General Manager, Mr. Gunay, informed me that there was a problem with the order. So inquired about the problem and he replied, ” Nothing specific”. He was very vague. So I waited again for the order to arrive. At 2:30pm EST the order still had not arrived. Mr. Gunay called me at that time to inform that I had entered my mobile number in incorrectly by one digit.
Basically, what Mr. Gunay was telling me was that because of it my order was late. So at this point the blame was being placed upon me even though the driver had my CORRECT address. At this point it is over an hour and the delivery still had not arrived. Meanwhile I’m arguing with the Gen. Manager about who’s the blame for the extremely long delivery.
What he failed to realize is was the long time I had been waiting and failed to apologize or take ownership of the situation. He actually laughed at me. Which I found EXTREMELY insulting. Therefore, I asked for the District Manager’s name and contact information. I called Mr. DeLorenzo and explained to him what happened. Admittingly in a bit of a huff. Finally the order arrived at 2:40pm and I refused it and told the driver to leave. This was a horrible experience.
Please note that this is not the first incident with this particular location. In the past, I just let it go. But this was different because I had to fight with the Gen. Manager as a consumer. As a result, I will never order another item from this location. I will continue to order from a local pizzeria by the name of The Upper Crust.
It’s more expensive, but I will assure you that there has and never will be a “brow beating” from their Gen. Mgt. Matter of fact after the Domino’s debacle, I ordered a pizza from The Upper Crust which arrived in 30 min. with great service. Mr. Delorenzo, this is a reflection of you and your managing. No matter how you slice it.
