First contacted to have Virgin Mobile service activated and phone number ported from another provider. Asked for a more secured SSN as part of the “Process”. They did not provide SSN and followed up with current mobile provider. They could not expedite request to transfer service. Then I tried to activate with virgin mobile online but that failed. Second contact to Virgin Mobile went more smoothly with NO MENTION OF SSN! Please be careful when you provide SSN information to contact centers that are not in the US. This information is harvested and sold by virgin mobile!

I got a virgin mobile phone online. It took 7 days to arrive. Now it has been 6 days of calls to customer service. Not only are the people impossible to understand, they are rude. After I asked a “customer service” worker to repeat herself because of her heavy accent, she snapped at me, “What? You don’t understand what a zip code is?” I have called every day for 6 days, and every time I call they “assure” me it will work in 24 hours. They obviously get paid by the call, not by solving issues. Too bad. It seemed like a good deal. But the poor customer service and technical issues forced me to send it back for a refund. Fortunately, they never charged my card even after I made several attempts to activate my account. I guess their incompetence worked in my favor for once. : )
since 3 days that the customers service has been offering to activate my phone,I have many hours dealing with many people on the line,some of them offer the next 15 minutes,2 hours,the next day,whatever,nothing happen.
Somebody knows where is the right place and the right answer?
i lost my virgin contract phone which is insured by them and have been on the phone to them evryday for at least an hour at a time, been told different stories constantly! i would never recommend them as they are arrogant people who should ge the sack on the spot!!
