Winners International Scam Sweepstakes

I received a phone call from James Richmond, sales rep for Winners International Sweepstakes, on Jan. 26, 2011 around 2 PM. After verifying my name & address, he told me that I had won $10,500,000 – plus a new Mercedes Benz & a trip to Florida. To process my winning status, I was asked to pay $500 – a mii=nor % of the taxes on these winnings. I was asked to drive to the nearest CVS, Walgreen or Wal-Mart and purchase a “green dot” money back guarantee something or other. James Richmond told me they got my name from Wal-Mart.

I called and spoke with the c-manager of the Winchester, Va Wal-Mart store. She told me Wal-Mart didn’t have any such drawing and this was a scam. Mr. Richmond was so persuasive that he volunteered to e-mail with attachments when I questioned the legitimacy of his lottery-like offering. The e-mail never came. His phone number in D. C. was 360-232-4188. Be on the lookout. Pretty slick.
