Someone has created a youtube channel using my full name (which is not a common name), my company and my address. The channel they have set up is an anti islam channel, which has many complaints and abuse targeted at me.(Example in the profile it states my business name and my occupation and says “looking forward to business affairs, as long as you are not a murderous muslim”). My name appears in google searches in the same content as well known neo-nazis / facists / racists. This always appears in the top 3 results. I have asked Youtube to remove the channel and given full details, I have completed there complaints for harassment and identity theft. But they have found no proof of either!!
Youtube state that “For content to be considered for removal, an individual must be uniquely identifiable by image, voice, full name, National Insurance number, bank account number or contact information (e.g. home address, email address).” Youtube have responded that as I am not in the video it cannot help and that I should respond directly to the owner of the channel, which is absolutley ridiculous! (As this is the person who is using my personal name and business address.) This is affecting me personally and my business, additionally in the current climate with the events in Norway, this has brought sharper focus.
