eBay Feedback Complaints from Top Rated Seller

eBay Feedback Complaints from Top Rated Seller 5/5 (100%) 1 vote

I have been a devoted HARD Working ebay seller for over 10 years maintaining a 99.9% feedback rating as a TOP RATED Seller which allowed me a 20% discount of fees until last year when ONE buyer purchased eight items I had ON SALE at a 50% discount with COMBINED Discounted shipping he complained so I refunded his money and never shipped the items. Ebay allowed this person to give me negative feedback and LOW DSR ratings which caused me to be removed me as a an EBAY top rated seller and I lost my 20% discount BECAUSE OF ONE BUYER.

I have complained Numerous times to NO avail. This Company and their Policies needs to be INVESTIGATED and thoroughly Investigated. My current Feedback Score Of 23,224 with a 99.7% rating which dropped from 99.9% because of ONE person is STILL NOT GOOD enough for them to reinstate my top rated seller status. I have lost an undetermined amount of money because of what they allowed ONE PERSON to do to me. A lawsuit is in order and I will be glad to participate. MY REPUTATION ON EBAY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF “Past & Present”. ANYONE want to view it? Not a Problem. This is how I get treated? Where are the Lawyers at when you need them?

  1. I am on e-bay for few years only, my first sale was held on 07/23/2009, this is my second try as an e-bay seller and I was really excited about it because I though I would finally make my dream come true, At the time I made my first sale on September 2011 everything was alright I already had 10 good reviews and 100% feedback, suddenly I got my review number 11 and kept my 100% feedback (My buyer was so happy with my item and my service), then this buyer with a 100% perfect feedback started sending messages requesting info about one of my items, he tried to have me doing business outside e-bay (First e-bay policy broken), then he offered a incredible low price for an item that was worth more than what he offered and I said no thanks, he kept trying and finally I accepted to sell my item for a lower price, I gave him free shipping, I made the item private as his request (I do not know why since it was a commercial blender) and I insured the item just in case something could happen during the delivery process (Thanks god I did it). Of course I tracked the item all the way until it was delivered and finally I contacted him to see if everything was alright (He never try to contact me after he got the item) and I kindly request his review for my account and I was shocked when what I got back was an offensive message (Second “BIG” policy violation) on witch he demanded partial money back claiming that the item had 1 piece broken (Item was insured and he was notified about it since the beginning of the shipping process) and he also said that the item was not as described because it was not cleaned (Unbelievable, item has not much to clean because it was a blender that was kept clean at all the times and I spent 2 hours on cleaning before I shipped it), amazing thing is that being “an experienced seller on e-bay, he did not follow the insurance procedure what makes me think that he received the item in perfect conditions and that he was just using his score to get away with my item and with money, on his claim he said that the item was terrible packed but he did not provide any proof of it, for what he informed the package was terrible manipulated by the post service and they broke the package (Was insured) it is clear to me and to whoever that reads all the transaction communication that he is a professional scammer that uses hes “perfect score to get away with money and items that honest people try to sell on e-bay, just look at his selling policies on any of his listings and you will understand how he protects that false 100% feedback (I regret I did not read his listings before I accepted to do business with him). Of course after he send his offensive message I spoke to a customer representative over the phone and he told me not to reply to this buyer anymore, next step was to escalate the case to customer support for an evaluation an a final decision and after only 1 day I won the case (“REALLY”) I provided proof of this scam and they “HELPED ME” to solve the issue, what I got in return for being honest and to give away to much to help this buyer was a negative review that put my account with a great 50% feedback, this person also broke other e-bay policies as using feedback for extortion and feedback manipulation, “SURPRISE”, after all the policies he broke and after he lost the case E-BAY informed me that this would not affect my seller performance evaluation, HUH, his feedback was kept on my account, people of course does not trust me anymore even tough I am using video to show my products and even more e-bay said that the buyer had the right to live a review “Can you believe this?” and they also said the wont remove it. “When will they apply the code for their own policies?”. For what I see new sellers do not have any chance to do real business with in e-bay because after what just happened I realize that scammers are with in their own protected system. This person do business on e-bay under the name of koko0203 “Be careful if he try to contact you” read carefully his policies and you will find out that HE WILL REJECT ANY PURCHASE FROM NEW ACCOUNTS WITH NO REVIEWS AT ALL, is he afraid of people that he has scammed to shot back to his account? personally I will never do it, but please be careful. After all I am still trying to do my business on e-bay and so far 1 person is trusting me (He already bought one of my items for a very low price of course, but I appreciate his business) and I finally have some others interested on my items. I hope I can get up from this. GOOD LUCK TO EVERY ONE.

    • I am on board with ANYBODY that wants to open a class action lawsuit. My stories of ebay are many and too long to type out here. Long story short, as ebay has grown, their focus has been completely on the buyer and not the seller. Each time I take a look ebay is taking away some right as a seller and making the buyer GOD. I can no longer even leave negative or even neutral feedback for buyers, yet the buyers are allowed to leave anything they wish. This makes me open my doors blindly. I want to know who I am selling to. At times I have to extend trust to these buyers. Information is so important these days. Thats why we have the sites that tell you were child predators live and why reviews are so important on products and businesses. I also am allowed to NOT offer a return policy, yet, eBay/PayPal still makes me take them and will freeze my money until I do. I use to get a discount for being a Power Seller. Then they create Top Rated Seller. I was both. Then they move the discount from the Power Seller to the Top Rated Seller. What comes next? They make it to where I have to jump through MANY hoops to keep the Top Rated. They now say I MUST offer 1 day shipping and offer 14 day Return Policy. So, basically they did a slide of hands with my discount and then create new policies to keep what was already mine. Enough is enough. According to eBays stats I have sold over $80,000 on their site over the last 3 years. Now I am looking for alternatives. I say bring the giant down! We as buyers and sellers need more options. Since eBay is the only real site like it and has traffic like they do, they are KING. Well, it is time for a new KING!

“It was bound to happen…as it has already in the real retail world (stores, outlets, specialty shops, etc.) where the customer has an ax to grind and wants someone/anyone to suffer for it. Just because a customer/buyer makes a negative comment, it DOES NOT mean that the customer is being honest. Now, does it? Liars are everywhere, and that is no exception with ebay. There is no morals clause in selling that I know of besides the standard lemon or bait and switch, but even those situations CAN BE subjective which means that the person/buyer/customer making the statement can and will say anything that he wants…like in the courtroom, some things CAN be proven hard and fast whereas others cannot. The customer SHOULD always be right, but we have now found out otherwise: not everyone is an honest person, now are they? And, guess what? There is NO way to eliminate a liar either. Moral of this story: you MUST learn to deal with liars, as guess what? They are not going away anytime soon…”

  3. Other sellers can buy from you using any account, leave + and 1 star you. They do it once or twice and they just killed cost their competitor a 20% increase in fees, decreased visibility, loss of shiny TSR. Only happens for big time movers but on top of the buyer abuse and inability to give them anything but positive with no real way to communicate to other sellers this one is trouble ebay is gay and dangerous for sellers. The buyers who shop there are cheap. Thats fine. Lower prices, higher sales. Yet they expect sellers to have a mall style way of doing business. Wear the dress for the big night? Oh sure return it stained. Return shipping should be on me right? I didn’t make it a SASE? Man what an ass I am for not doubling shipping expenses for the chance I get a asshole like you. If these people want mall service they should pay mall prices. 70% off retail value = you get the item and zero tolerance if you change your mind. You may not mind wasting your time and money but I sure as hell mind you costing me either. Most buyers are coddled children. Ebay is that enabling mother and sellers are daddy with a belt being restrained from making right right. I want BUYERS to start being debited a fee which is shared if they order an item and don’t pay. within a1-2 weeks.Change your mind. Thanks for wasting everyones time. $10 charge, $5 here 5 there. Issue a chargeback? $20 for the buyer and that number is shit on the site now.
