In 1964, Iowa 80 Truckstop opened its doors to truckers in a modest white enamel structure before Interstate 80 had even been completed. Bill Moon, Iowa 80's creator, chose Exit 284 as the ideal location for a Standard Oil service station. After building the truck stop, they opened it in 1965, with Bill taking over the management. The world's largest truck stop, Iowa 80, is located at Exit 284 in Walcott, Iowa, along Interstate 80. In addition to the main building of 67,000 square feet, truck parking for up to 900 vehicles. There are 15 diesel fuel pumps.
