In 1993 by Paul Fleming and Philip Chiang, P. F. Chang's China Bistro is an American chain of Asian-themed, casual dining restaurants. In March 2019, TriArtisan Capital Advisors acquired Chang's from Centerbridge Partners in a private equity firm. The company is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Besides American Chinese cuisine, the chain also serves other Asian dishes. Employees describe the menu as having "Asian flavors." As of May 2021, there are 218 P F Chang's locations in the United States and more than 100 outside the country under license agreements. Cecilia Chiang's son, Philip Chiang, founded the chain in 1993. In Scottsdale, Arizona, the first restaurant was opened. P. F. Chang's China Bistro, Inc. was formed in 1993 after the original four restaurants were acquired.
