The Ruby Tuesday Corporation owns, operates, and franchises Ruby Tuesday restaurants. The concept was introduced in 1972 by Samuel E. (Sandy) Beall III. Morrison Restaurants Inc. was reincorporated in 1996 as a new corporation. It has 209 locations worldwide, including its headquarters in Maryville, Tennessee. Besides the Pacific Coast states, its flagship brand consists of a chain of casual dining restaurants featuring American cuisine. Since closing several locations in the Great Basin and Great Plains, including Chicago, in recent years, it has most locations along the eastern coast of the United States (apart from Boston). To refocus on the Ruby Tuesday brand, Ruby Tuesday sold the Lime Fresh Mexican Grill rights to an undisclosed buyer in 2016.
