King Soopers is a supermarket chain founded by Lloyd J. King. He introduced the first King Soopers store in Arvada in 1947. King Soopers stores are located along the Front Range Corridor on the southern slope of Rocky Mountain. The company’s motto was to offer “friendly service, value, cleanliness, and quality”. In 1957 company was acquired by Dilton and after 30 years it merge with Kroger.King Soopers was the first store that presented the concept of a self-service meat department and also had a built-in pharmacy. There are nearly 118 shops of King Soopers.
