By using HissingKitty or adding a report, review or listing, you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, so please read them.

What HissingKitty Is

A free, independent record of teams replacing rented software with tools they own. We don't sell software, take referral fees from vendors or sell leads.

Reports You Add

• Share only your own experience, and only numbers that are accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• Don't share information you don't have the right to share, like confidential contract terms you agreed to keep private.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You give HissingKitty permission to publish, display and summarize your report, including in totals, charts and research.
• A person reviews every report before it goes live. We may reject a report, trim it for length, or remove details that could identify a person or company. We never change a report's meaning or edit it to favor building over renting.
• You can ask us to remove your report at any time through the contact page.

Reviews

• Review only software your team pays for or has paid for. No reviews of your own product or a competitor's.
• Every review is approved before it goes live. We may reject reviews that are off topic, abusive or written for someone else.

Listings and Votes

• List only a tool you make or a company you run, and only on pages for software it actually replaces.
• Prices you share should be real starting prices or typical quotes. We may remove a listing with misleading claims.
• Every listing is approved before it goes live. Rank comes from votes only. There is no paid placement.
• One vote per person per listing. Don't use scripts, many browsers or other people to stuff votes. We may reset votes or remove a listing that does.

Vendors

Vendors can't pay to change, rank or remove reports. If you work for a vendor and believe a report is inaccurate, tell us through the contact page and we'll review it. Company names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify the product. Their use doesn't mean the company endorses HissingKitty.

Estimates Are Estimates

The Build vs. Buy estimator and any number labeled as an estimate are rough guides built from formulas and averages. They aren't quotes, and they aren't financial, legal or tax advice. Check prices with the vendor and get your own advice before you sign or cancel anything.

Accuracy

Reports come from the people who add them. We check them, but we can't guarantee every detail, and prices change. Published pricing shows its source and the date we checked it.

Acceptable Use

• No fake reports, reports about your own product, or reports written for someone else.
• No harassment, spam, or attempts to break or overload the site.
• No automated scraping that slows the site for others. The machine-readable data we publish is there for you to use with credit.

No Warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, HissingKitty isn't liable for decisions made using information on the site.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above when we do. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
