Second real HubSpot bill
A company I back paid about $43,000 a year for HubSpot as the sales CRM. It works, and the price keeps rising with use.

We pay about $45k a year across Marketing, Content and Service Hub. The tools work well. Nearly a quarter of the bill is just for extra marketing contacts, which grows as our list grows, not as our team does. Before renewing, I'd ask how contact tiers will be priced next year.

The attribution for leads all the way through to revenue has never worked right. Organic, direct, AI, etc. we just have no idea what sources are really driving growth.

"In the last year we replaced over 10 third-party softwares, including HubSpot, Shopify, and others. ... Roughly $10k/month. It was important for us to cut out much of the HubSpot noise we didn't need and build custom sales workflows (pricing calculators, quotes, contracts) that connect directly to our production planner, SKUs, and IMS."

Was paying $500 / month before
"After years of paying $500+/month for HubSpot and being locked into annual contracts, we were done. ... So we built our own truly AI-native CRM. We don't pay per seat or per feature, only for compute and storage."

"I replaced both with a mini-CRM built in an afternoon with Claude Cowork ... two canceled CRM subscriptions. Would this scale to a 50-seat sales team? No, and it is not trying to. On X, asked about savings: "at least $2k/year - for a small startup.""

Email sending and deliverability are hard to run yourself, so keep a sending service. You rely on many marketplace apps that plug into HubSpot. No one on your side can own the tool after it ships
Switch if you want something running this week and your process is standard. Build if your process is your edge, you want to own your data, or per-seat pricing keeps rising. HubSpot: Keep email sending rented; own forms, lead scoring and reporting. No reports yet.
